The insolvency proceedings search in Datafinder lets you research ongoing and concluded insolvency proceedings in Germany quickly and precisely. With the integrated search, you can identify debtors, whether they are natural persons or legal entities. You can look up specific companies or individuals, and the results provide detailed information on the proceedings, the administrators and the relevant deadlines. This means users and investors can always keep track of current insolvency cases.

Entering your search query

The search focuses on corporate insolvencies and by default lists the latest proceedings first, sorted by opening date, so the most recently opened cases are at the top. Alternatively, you can search for a specific company by entering its name directly in the company name field.

Filter options

You can also apply filters directly to the insolvency proceedings to narrow down your search more precisely. The criteria you can define include:

  • Period of the proceedings
  • Type of proceedings
  • Case number
  • Competent court

Further filters relating to the company data are also available. For example, you can filter companies by industry, total assets or number of employees. You can also use the competent register court (Amtsgericht) and the register number to refine your results further.

Results and views

You can display the entries found either in profile view or as a table. In table view, you can export your selection as a CSV file: as soon as you hover over the table, a download arrow appears in the top right-hand corner, which you can use to export the data.

The results overview shows the key information at a glance, such as debtor/company, case number, insolvency court, register number, register court and insolvency period. Clicking ‘View proceedings’ opens the detailed view of the insolvency proceedings in question.

Detailed view of insolvency proceedings

The left-hand panel first shows basic information about the company, including its name and registered office. This is followed by a detailed table with the key details of the insolvency proceedings, such as the opening date, type of proceedings, case number and insolvency court.

Next, the company data is shown, including the register number and register court. Below this is an overview of the insolvency administrator with all contact details: full name, title, profession, firm, email, phone, website and address. The website can be opened directly with a single click.

The right-hand panel shows real-time data from the insolvency register, so the information is always as current as possible. Once loaded, the entries are displayed in reverse chronological order, with the latest updates first. Each update contains all the relevant information on the proceedings, including the opening date, the appointed insolvency administrator, notices to creditors, deletion deadlines and any special decisions.
